August
Sorry to have been so quiet this month.
I am sick. I'm not sure what it is as all the tests we have run up to this point have been negative.
But yet, I am having trouble keeping food around long enough to get much nutrition. Let's just leave it at that. You really don't want the sordid details.
We are taking very good care of me, making sure I am getting the water and vitamins and such that I need. But I am tired and can't get very far from a bathroom.
Life is at one of those endurance points. Either I have to get better or get worse. The easy to figure out reasons have already been ruled out.
I just got the bill for one of the tests and it was under $30. That was a relief. Update on Aug. 27, 2013 - well, that bill was just for the sampling kit. The actual testing cost about $700. Ouch ouch ouch ouch. (I guess I better get an EBay store open soon. Anyone who wants to help out is verrrry welcome to visit my Etsy store - https://www.etsy.com/shop/FoxRydeGardens?ref=si_shop I'd be happy to send you some of my lovely things to help pay for this! she says hopefully.) End of update.
We are Americans without Health Insurance.
We had Major Medical with $10,000 deductible until a few months ago. But we had to let it go as we couldn't afford it any more. We had been with the company since 2000 and saw our premium go from $150 to over $400. And we had never used it. It wouldn't be much good now for me - unless there is something really majorly wrong.
It is a very vulnerable place to be in. Sick and on your own resources.
Being an artist is amazing, challenging, and scary. But the scariest perhaps is being without health insurance.
